Grooming is an important part of pet care. Depending on the breed, age,and health of your pet, grooming may even need to be a part of you and your pet’s daily routine. Many breeds require less grooming than this, but regular grooming always helps to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. Some breeds don't shed their hair effectively (eg. Poodles) and require grooming by a professional every 6-8 weeks. Long haired cats can particularly benefit from regular grooming as it helps prevent the formation of knots on the skin and hairballs in the stomach.
Professional Grooming Services
While we don't currently have a groomer on staff we do know a professional grooming salon which can offer this service. While our staff can clip and wash pets we are not currently equipped to offer this at NAC as an additional service.
This salon is Barking Beauties and they are located at Revesby & Leumeah. They offer a full range of grooming, clipping and washing services for dogs of all sizes and breeds. Unfortunately groomers for cats are a little harder to come by!
Our grooming service does extend to a dog or cat may require sedation for grooming/clipping as this requires Veterinary supervision if sedation or anaesthesia is required. If your pet has been in hopsital with us and requires bathing for any reason prior to going home this can be done the day of discharge from hospital.
When visiting any grooming salon please ensure you tell the groomers (they will usually ask) about any skin conditions your pet may have. This will sometimes require the use of medicated or low allergen shampoos which we can provide and advise about use for. If your pet does need a special shampoo you will need to remember to bring this to each appointment if the salon cant store it for you.
If you have any further questions about grooming please call us.
